Narrow Coffee Shop in Bay Ridge
The Bay Ridge neighborhood in Brooklyn is the primary spot for the marathon audience, where spectators come to see the runners in the early morning hours.
The Narrow Coffee Shop will provide you with an indulgent breakfast, including a cup of coffee, pancakes, and turkey bacon.
Autumn in the morning in New York is usually cold, so make sure to get a dosage of hot breakfast.
Other places in Bay Ridge that we recommend are the Greek-American brunch place called Pegasus and Cocoa Grinder, an NYC chain that looks like the typical Brooklyn coffee joint.
Tacos El Bronco in Sunset Park
If you are an early bird that can go miles without breakfast and prefers brunch, then we suggest you to try out Tacos El Bronco, located at only a few miles from Narrows Coffee Shop.
This place offers huevos rancheros and the so-called Mexican sausage, all wrapped with rustic homestyle options for side dishes.
New Yorkers consider it one of the best taco places in town.
Pies and Thighs in Williamsburg
Pies and Thighs is located in the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn.
It is a place where you can get waffles and chicken, but also fish and grits if you’re up for something different.
Be a good friend and buy your runner buddy a piece of fruit pie or a cobbler for their post-marathon recovery time.
Lobster Joint in Greenpoint
The Lobster Joint in Greenpoint offers lobster rolls and clam strips.
It is located in Greenpoint, the place where runners reach a point from where they cross over to Manhattan and have only 13 more miles to the very end.
A great spot for cheering and indulging a fresh lobster meal with a beer or two.
The Jeffrey Craft Beers and Bites on the Upper East Side
The Jeffrey is a proper bar on our list.
It has a wide range of craft beers and a large snack and sandwiches menu for runners and spectators that are headed north of the island.
It is a popular place where we recommend you to make a booking beforehand and try their teriyaki beef.
Cuchifritos in East Harlem
If you’re into Puerto Rican food, we recommend you to try out this place and enjoy their plantains and coconut juice.
It is located in Harlem a bit down from another popular place called Red Rooster.
The owner of the Red Rooster is the superstar chef Marcus Samuelsson, half Ethiopean, half Swedish in a long-term relationship with NYC.
Serafina Fabulous Pizza on the Upper East Side
In the search for the perfect pizza place that can fit into your marathon schedule?
Try out Serafina on Madison and then take a stroll to Fifth Avenue to keep up your fitness level after that homemade crust pizza and pasta.
An excellent place to try some genuine New York Italian cuisine.
PJ Carney’s Pub in Central Park South
The finish line of the runners is in Central Park, so celebrate this exciting day at PJ Carney’s Pub with a pint and some snacks.
Meet your runner friend, take the south trail through the park and you’ll soon get to PJ’s which is located only 2 blocks from Seventh Ave.
Santa Fe on the Upper West Side
A fancy bar that will awaken all of your senses!
There is a list of fantastic margaritas and southwestern food and the best of all- it is at a few minutes walk from the finish line.
Tavern on the Green
This place is located at central park, on the finish line of the NYC Marathon at it is one of the most historical food places in the city.
It has a beautiful garden and a dining hall which provides a quaint vibe for visitors who enjoy relaxed atmosphere and tasty food.
