The trail is a bit less than a mile one way, and you’ll be well rewarded when you reach the top.
The Diamond Head Crater provides an incredible view of Honolulu and Waikiki.
Reservations are required before heading out.
The Kaneohe Bay Pillbox trail is on the windward side of the island.
You can park at the Koolau Shopping Center and follow the guardrail to the trailhead.
The trail is a little over 2 miles long round trip.
The trail is mostly forested.
However, there are a few lookout points that offer a great view.
In fact, the pillbox at the end of the trail gives a beautiful view of the bay.

Bishop Museum is Hawaii’s natural and cultural history museum.

It plummets to a depth of 3,600 feet.
