But if you are an adventurer that is in the search of an alternative outdoor option, we recommend you the Michigan national parks that visitors have said to be underrated and extremely beautiful.

We have created a list of five national parks in Michigan that are under the National park Service which provides their maintenance and protection.

The Isle Royale National Park in Michigan is one of the most serene and harmonious places in the country.

According to the data provided, around 25, 000 people visit Yellowstone National Park in the month of July, and half of them are visitors of the Isle Royale National Park annually.

The park is actually midst the Lake Superior, as an isolated island, therefore you can get there only by ferry and this can take up to 3 hours.

In the upper peninsula of Michigan, along Lake Superior, you will find the picturesque Rocks National Lakeshore that offers incredible sights and trails which make it one of the most appealing and adventurous places in the US.

The park has an abundance of sandstone cliffs that own their color multitude to the different kinds of minerals.

One of the greatest attractions in this park is the waterfalls (also a great reason to visit the National Parks in Washington State).

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Empire

Sleeping Bear is one of the greatest attractions when it comes to national parks in Michigan, full of sand dunes and lakes.

Visitors in the area can hike the dunes, run downhill or do stargazing and snowshoeing in the wintertime.

Sleeping Bear is also the place of a historical replica village that has a still-operating store, a blacksmith, and several stations.

River Raisin National Battlefield Park, Monroe

River Raisin National Battlefield Park is a territory that is legally protected as a special national park unit.

This place is a physical monument of the war of 1812 that was fought between the US and the UK over the then-northwest territory and the 1813 battles.

In the battle, the Americans were defeated by the British and the Native Americans while the phrase “Remember the Raisin!” became synonymous with the war.

Keweenaw National Historical Park, Calumet

The  Keweenaw National Park is located in northern Michigan which is the central place of the copper production industry.

It is a national park that commemorates copper mining in the US and has a long history of more than 7, 000 years.

This place offers amusement and adventurous time in any season of the year.

You can visit museums, do mine tours and mountain biking or explore historical sites full of artifacts and remnants.

The autumn is the special season in this place, though as it is full of mesmerizing colors of the fall.
