1. Savannah

Thanks to the architecture of the pre-war period and the streets lined with oaks, the atmosphere of special hospitality reigns in the charming city of Savannah.

2. Cumberland Island

Cumberland Island belongs to the so-called Sea Islands, a chain of coastal barrier islands off the east coast of the United States.

A total of more than 100, the islands are located between the mouths of the Santee and St. Jones River along the shores of the states of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

Cumberland is the largest of them by area (28 km long, 147 square kilometers, of which 68 sq. km. are swamps and coastal areas flooded during tides).

The island is the national preserve off the coast of Georgia.

There is no bridge to it – you can get here by ferry or by private boat or yacht.

3. Blue Ridge Islands

The town of Blue Ridge is a great place to relax at any time of the year, especially in the summer if you need fogs, forests, and mountains.

The trip by car will take about an hour and a half on a calm road.

It is necessary to rent a house – a wooden chest with all the amenities in the forest.

You’ll get relatively remote from the noisy Atlantic to breathe clean air and feel the coolness of the mountains, forests, and lakes.

4. Atlanta

Historically, the island was the land of the Muskogian tribes.

The first European to arrive on the island were the Spaniards in 1510.

Now the island is a park-reserve and at the same time a resort with many hotels.

The island is known for its peaceful privacy.

7. Callaway Botanical Garden

A popular leisure center created by industrialist Kayson Callaway, with artificial lakes, magnolia and azalea gardens, and butterflies are on Pine Mountain in the Northside.

Lake Robin, which hosts the Waterski and Wakeboard Tournament Masters annual tournaments, offers an excellent opportunity to participate in water sports.

Also, there are two excellent golf courses and numerous walking trails.

8. Ocmulgee Mounds National Monument

Time to go to the prehistoric American Indian park where the American Indians first came during the Paleo-Indian period hunting Ice Age mammals.

Ocmulgee has 8 miles of trails.

The most popular points of interest are the Earth Lodge, the Trading Post site, and the Great and Lesser Temple Mounds.

Many different American Indian cultures occupied this land for thousands of years.

The mounds for their elite which they constructed remains there today.

9. Tallulah Gorge State Park

Are you ready to discover the beautiful waterfalls and a two-mile-long 1,000 feet deep canyon in Tallulah?

Take one of the trails or obtain a permit and hike to the gorge floor.

If you have always dreamt of walking across the rocky bottom on a suspension bridge, you can do this in Tallulah.

There are trails for bikers and hikers, and you can watch a dramatic film about the trip through the gorge, footage of rock climbers and kayakers included.
